Punjab Government has appointed Dr. Yog Raj Sharma as the Chairman of Punjab School Education Board on 25 November 1969 and also as Secretary of School Education (Punjab)

Dr. Yog Raj Sharma is an eminent scholar of Punjabi language. He has published more than half a dozen books and almost two dozen of research papers. He played an important role as Professor in the Department of Punjabi Development at Punjabi University, Patiala. He holds a doctorate degree and he is M.A. (Hons) Punjabi, M.A. Hind and M.A. journalism and mass communication.
